Looking Forward to a Wonderful Weekend!

I woke up very early today. The sun seem to be smiling at me from my bedroom window. Sometimes, I wake up in a good mood. Sometimes, I am cranky without any reason. I am just looking forward to a wonderful weekend with my family. We don't have anything planned yet. I just want to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Sipping a warm cup of coffee and watching a good movie can be done at home. I don't have to go out of the house to look for something enjoyable to do.

Conserve Water

Water is essential to life. With the growing population, there could be a global water shortage in the near future. We can help conserve water at home by fixing leaking faucets as soon as possbile. When we brush our teeth at the sink, turn off the water if you do not need it. I notice some people just let the water continue running even if they are not using it at that very moment. Speaking of faucets, I recently asked my hubby to get a Grohe shower faucet and kitchen faucet for our home.

Roadside Assistance

Last weekend. something unfortunate happened to our family. I cannot believe our car won't start in the middle of the road. We called for a roadside assistance immediately to get us out of the frustrating and embarrassing situation. Luckily, it was not in a busy highway. But still it was too much of a hassle for us. We could have used to the for other family activities. I was freaking out but my husband said, we should still be thankful that no accident happened to us. It could have been worse. So I guess I will just charge it to experience.

Living in the City

One of the things I like about living in the province is the fresh air. Naturally, air in the province is less polluted because there are more trees around and less vehicles. My body feels so relaxed when I am in the province. We still go there for summer vacation yearly.

My husband and I decided to raise a family here in the city. Our environment here is pretty cool and refreshing but there are some places we pass by that's very polluted. You would wish you have a portable air filter with you if you go to those areas. As much as possible, I do not bring my children in those crowded places. There's also a danger that I would lose them out of my sigh and God knows what can happen to them. I think as a concerned citizen, we can help prevent pollution by disposing our garbage properly.

Mermaid Show at the Manila Ocean Park

Our family visited Manila Ocean Park yesterday and we watched the Mermaid Show. The mermaids' movements were really graceful. You really have to be a good swimmer to do this job. Both adults and children will be delighted to watch this spectacular show.

Here are some pictures during the show:

Western Governors Online University

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Economics but I haven't put it into practice for quite some time now. I have been contemplating on going back to school and get a business degree. But with all my responsibilities, I do not think it's possible for me to physically go to school. So I have to look for an alternative. I heard that getting an online degree is possible. Internet has really made a lot of things convenient for people.

Speaking of online business degree, a popular school that you can apply to is the Western Governors Online University. They have online Bachelor's Degree Program and Online Master's Degree Programs. With their online programs, you will be armed with the latest skills and knowledge in your field of expertise.

Don't Forget to Take Your Vitamins

Don't Forget to Take Your Vitamins. A friendly reminder from your mom.

If I have an advertisement at home, those would be the lines.

I am such a health-conscious mom. Taking their vitamins is something I remind my hubby and my children regularly. I feel that it's something I need to repeat to them over and over again. Not that they are forgetful but because I worry a lot when someone in my family gets sick.

I see to it that they take their vitamins, especially Vitamin C to boost their immune system. It's practical to take care of ourselves. There's just too much bodily pain and discomfort when we get sick. Plus we spend more on medication and doctor's fee too.

Healthy Pregnancy

Although I have good pregnancy experience all throughout, I have my share of dizziness, and morning sickness. It's a good thing that my obstetrician/gynecologist prescribed the best prenatal multivitamin which is also rich in iron.

My husband was very supportive. He makes sure that I am okay and my body is well-nourished. He always me that a healthy pregnancy equals a healthy baby. I cannot agree more to that. I also kept reading pregnancy books to gain more information on how to have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Creative Writing

If there's one skill that I want to hone and practice, it's my writing skills. Our imagination may be limitless, but there's a need for us to learn how to write creatively in a way that our readers will understand it.

I want to know the techniques to creative writing and how to emphasize my points clearly. I think I will see if there are short courses that I can take this year. I want to experience a classroom environment where there's a learning and sharing of ideas.

After that, I may not apply it only to blogging but other communication means as well.

Determination and Weight Loss

There's a lot of weight loss programs online. What works for one person may not work for me. You really have to find something that suits you well. But above anything else, a person must have the determination to lose weight. It's something that he or she should take seriously. Yesterday, I have seen actress Francine Prieto on a talk show. She was telling her struggles on losing weight. Right now, her body is back in shape. That's the result of determination and the right weight loss program for her.

As we grow older, we notice a lot of changes in our body. Due to these changes, our actions becomes limited. We are no longer as physically capable compared when we were younger. Our body degenerates. Some old people experience having osteoarthritis, which is the most common type of arthritis. Fortunately, supplements for joints are now available in the market. You may have heard about msm lotion. MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) can been used for swelling of muscles and joints.

Kris Aquino The Buzz Interview

I watch The Buzz regularly. Like most Kris Aquino followers, I have been waiting for Kris' revelations regarding the recent controversy surrounding her marriage with James Yap and a non-showbiz girl named Mayen Austria.

Here's the video divided into three parts:

Let's hope they will be able to work on their marriage. After everything that she has been through, she deserves someone that can truly make her happy.

Goodbye Acne

I know how fun and how difficult it is at the same time to be in the teenage years. I have been in that stage too. Also, I am a mom who guided her kids to survive that stage. There's the confusion of first love, raging hormones, the opposite sex, acne breakouts, rebellious streaks... and the list can go on.

Since I touched on the topic of acne break outs, I know there exist a lot of prescriptions to get rid of acne. Acne breakouts can cause more insecurities in that awkward stage. The last thing these teens want is to have acne on their faces.

Accutane is a popular cure to acne. Most often, you can see them as the main ingredient to combat acne. If your teenage daughter or son is experiencing acne breakouts, you may click here to learn more about accutane.

Remembering My Mom

My mom has been gone for quite a while now but I can still remember how special she is. She's very loving and caring. She loved my children like her own. Oh how she spoiled them! She enjoyed cooking for them. She would always tell them stories about her childhood days, how she survived the World War II.

Even when I had my own family, my mother was always there when I needed her. She was my mom, my best friend and my confidante. She taught me how important it is to have an open communication with my children. From her, I learned the meaning of unconditional love. Mama, I know you are in a better place right now. I will forever miss you.

Mommy Kath of Pinoy Big Brother

Among the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Double up, I am rooting for Kathleen Lopeña-Ortega, best known as Mommy Kath. She seems very reliable and down-to-earth. I hope she'll emerge as the Big Winner. She's a print ad model in Spain. Among the girls, it's her simple beauty that I like the most. I think she can be a print ad/commercial model here in the Philippines too. With her flawless beauty, she can serve as spokesperson for acne spot treatment products. Go Mommy Kath!

Metal Garden Sheds

As a mother, gardening is a form of therapy for me. It's also a bonding time for me and my girls. Since we are trying to promote healthy living at home, we have lots of vegetables in our garden. Recently, one of my daughters pointed out that we need a Metal Garden Shed for storage of our garden equipments. I have to agree with her because our garden looks completely disorganized with lots of tools just laying around the yard.

While browsing online, I came across asgardsss.co.uk. Asgard is a known maker of metal sheds and storage. I would prefer a metal shed because it can last for a very long time. As expected, a storage made of metal is better than a storage made of wood.

If you are looking for quality metal sheds, I am sure you can find the best products on the Asgard website. Their metal sheds are made of galvanized steel, so you can expect them to be weather proof.

Motorcycle Accident

Motorcycle accidents are pretty common on the road. I have heard a few motorcycle accidents during the holidays. In one instance, the victim even passed away. It must have been a very painful Christmas for the family of the victim.

This makes me wonder why accidents involving motorcycles often happen. I think it's because those riding a motorcycle are less visible on the road especially at night. Was the accident caused by other motorist getting into your right of way? If you have been involved in such incident, you can consult a motorcycle accident attorney to help you with your case. Of course, always wear a helmet as a safety precaution.

Start Right

Sometimes, don't you feel glad that the holiday is over? I am not being the Grinch dislikes Christmas but I feel that after the holiday, everything is back to normal. That is kids go back to school and people continue whatever unfinished work they have done last year. There were too many sale and promotions the last few months that I would pass up shopping these days. I think what's important is, we start the year right. Start it with the right mindset, and right attitude. There should be a balance of work and play.

First Blog Post for 2010

This is going to be my first blog post for 2010. I would like to greet my blogger friends and readers a Blessed New Year. I will keep this one short and sweet. For this year, I just hope that my family will be able to spend more time together. There may be differences (who does not?), but I hope everything will be settled peacefully and unselfishly. Allow the Lord to always guide our hearts.
