Work Out at Home

Hubby and I are considering getting a workout equipment at home. Since we are getting older, we vowed that we should be more health-conscious. There's a lot of fitness equipments online sold at an affordable price. Of course, we want to get the best deal from our money. Right now, we are thinking if we would get a tread mill, pull chinning bar or a dip bar. When we have enough budget, of course, I want to have a complete set. When it comes to our health, I am sure this investment will be worth it.

Things I'm Thankful For

Thanksgiving was recently celebrated in the United States. Although Thanksgiving is not a big deal in the Philippines, I would like to list the things I am thankful for.

- I am thankful for the love and respect of my family.
- I am thankful for the friendship of those that matters to me.
- I am thankful for the unforgettable bonding moments I have with my loved ones.
- I am thankful for the days I get to de-stress and go shopping (But I am now a cured shop-a-holic).
- I am thankful for the times I make someone happy.
- I am thankful for the time I am able to reflect and peacefully examine my life.
- Most of all, I am thankful for the blessings that God had bestowed upon me and my loved ones.

College Course Choices

One of my niece will be going to college next school year but until now she's torn between majoring in Architecture or Engineering. But she said most likely, she would take up Architecture because she wants to design modern buildings.

She is actually talented when it comes to drawing. With her talent, I think it will be easy for her to learn cad drawings as well. My advise to her is choose a reputable school and make sure she excels in the field that she had chosen. Do whatever makes her happy. In my opinion, if we are passionate about something, it will be easier for us to excel.

Reminder: In Need of a Rocker Switch

Aside from expressing my thoughts and ideas on this blog. Another purpose of it is to serve as a memopad where I can post the things I need to remind myself or my hubby. I should remind my husband on weekend to buy rocker switches for our new computer set. We haven't set it up yet because we are too busy with some other things. Actually, it's still in the box.

In Retrospect Blog's First Anniversary

Time flies! My blog is now one year old. Actually, I only noticed it when my subscription to the GoDaddy domain was automatically renewed and I received the receipt in my inbox. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to celebrate my blog turning one year old with a contest and sponsorship. In retrospect, I find blogging to be a very relaxing and productive hobby. With my blog, I am able to express myself and share ideas with my readers. Aside from that, I also get to earn from blogging. Although it's not that much, it helps pay some of the bills.

2012

My family watched the 2012 last Saturday at the movie theater. Was it worth our time and money? Definitely yes! I actually liked the movie. It was like a modern day version of Noah's ark. Unfortunately, their modern Noah's Ark, a spaceship, was originally intended for the rich and privileged only because it costs a whopping 1 billion euro per reservation.

Anyway, I won't mention anymore spoilers. Aside from the effects and storyline, it was a good movie because it opens people's eyes to be more caring about the environment. Natural calamities has been happening and there's only mankind to blame because we abuse our resources.

After the movie, my girls spent time at the book store, while hubby and I have to look for appliances. That mall is so big that I think we might need a gps. But of course, we can always use our cellphones to let them know where we are.

I'm thankful for the wonderful weekend spent with my beloved family.

Maguindanao Massacre - A Heartbreaking News

I may not personally know the victims, but I really felt affected when I read about the Maguindanao massacre that was caused by a political feud. The lives of 43 people was claimed by the brutal massacre.

What's more heartbreaking is that some of the victims were innocent women and civilians - innocent people! I'm pretty sure that if you follow the news, you may have read or heard the details about this gruesome incident. I am just hoping that justice will be served as soon as possible.

Bath Robes and Towel Wraps for Women

Since I was talking about Christmas gifts in my previous post, let me discuss some gift ideas I found out online. I am thinking of giving my sisters something nice, something comfy and something personalized!

I have known about Posylane for quite a while now. It's a site that offers affordable personalized gifts for women and children. They have a lot of cute stuff which your friends and kids would surely love.

While browsing on their products, I found about the bath robes and towel wraps being sold on the site. What makes these products unique is you can have the name of the gift recipient embroidered on them. If not, you can also request for a special message embroidered on the gift item.

I will buy a terry bath robe for my sister Jovi and a bath wrap for my sister Lyn. Since the products are comfortable and durable at the same time, I will get one for myself.

I would love to have a pink waffle bath robe. There are more color options on the site. It's also available in green, black and white. I'm sure my daughters would love these robes when they see them.

Gifts For Me?!

Some of my family and friends started asking me what I want for Christmas. It just feels good to be asked about it. lol I told them, I just want to be surprised. For me, it's the thought that counts. But I wish someone would give me a spa certificate. My family and friends are complaining that I am not gicing them something specific that I want. They said it will be harder to choose a gift for me. But I assured that I am easy to please. Besides, if they are running out of idea, they can always look up gifts for her online.

Smart Parenting - Angelina Jolie Cover

When I dropped by National Bookstore today, a copy of Smart Parenting caught my attention. No, it's not really because of Angelina Jolie's smile. There was a topic about Traditional and Progressive School. I have always been interested with this topic. I read about pros and cons, and discussions about it online but I still want to see what the magazine have to add about this debate. There was a long line on the counter hence, I decide that I will grab a copy next time. But for those mommies who also find this topic interesting, then this November issue should be a good buy.

Outer Banks Vacations

Why is Outer Banks Vacation Ideal?

One of the places that I would love to visit if given a chance to tour places in the US would be Outer Banks, North Carolina. I really feel relaxed when I am at the beach, especially if we have a comfortable (and affordable!) place to stay. Being able to relax with your loved ones in a scenic view is priceless. These are the kind of memories that you will forever treasure. I hope that my dream Outer Banks vacations would come true soon.

Cubao's Giant Christmas Tree

Anywhere you go here in the Philippines, you'd surely feel the Christmas spirit. When we visited Gateway Mall yesterday, I have seen the 20-feet tall giant Christmas tree once again. The Giant Christmas Tree of Cubao is located Araneta Center Cubao, Quezon City. This attraction is lit up every Christmas season.

This year, I am planning to purchase a new Christmas tree. But artificial christmas trees and the decorations are now very expensive. They say, it's better to buy them earlier (before the Christmass rush). Instead of going to large malls, you can always try Baclaran or Divisoria.

My Favorite Soap Opera is Getting More Exciting!

My favorite soap opera (based on a Korean drama series), Stairway to Heaven is getting more exciting. I can no longer the last time I got really obsessed watching a tv series. I am not a boob tube addict so my family is really surprised that I liked this drama series too much. More than the actors, I am more interested with the storyline. I can say it's even better than the original dram series. It won't be too long when Cholo will find out the Jenna is indeed Jodi, the love of his life. From what I read online, the tv soap will end by December. With the good ratings that they are getting, I wonder if they would extend it. I hope not because when this happens, the story tends to get really boring, and unnecessary scenes will be added.

In Need of New Phone

I accidentally dropped my cellphone and it has been broken to pieces. I don't really want to recount how it happened, but the thing is I need a new phone. And it's not in my planned budget at the moment. A good news is that a relative of mine from the US included an unlocked phone in the package she sent us. But its yet to arrive. I hope it works. I have other things more important to take care of right now. Maybe next year, we can afford a brand new phone.
