Best Diet Pills

After a while, when a person gets older, the metabolism is no longer the same compared when he or she was in her 20's. Hence, some people easily gain weight as they age. Aside from making sure you refrain from eating food with too much cholesterol and exercising regularly, we can also resort to food supplements and diet pills. In order to know what are the best diet pills, you can always make a research online and of course ask your doctor about it.

Keira Knightley

No doubt about it, she is such a pretty and talented young actress. She's one of my daughter's favorite especially when she saw her at Pirates of the Caribbean. Ah, she's one lucky woman to be able to work with my idol Johnny Depp. But I pointed out to my daughter that she seem to skinny for my taste. That's not what teenagers should do to their bodies. With media pressure, sometimes teens can get into the fad of getting super skinny. Having the ideal weight is good enough. You can attain so by exercising, eating the right food and using an effective diet pill. But it's not a good when you purposely starve yourself.

A Mother's Prayer

I stumbled across this inspirational poem/prayer while surfing online. I would just like to share this to moms out there who sometimes feel tired juggling the things that needs to be done at home.

A Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, It's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For Life's been anything but calm,
Since You called me to be a Mom,
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with matching blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes,
And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read,
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see them, in my small one's face,
That you have blessed me
All the while --
And I stoop to kiss
That precious smile.

Kristen Stewart

My daughters love Kristen Stewart's edgy look. Well, as a mom, I am pretty updated with the latest things that my children like. I surf the net with them and talk about what's hot and what's not.

Only her can pull of this attire- pairing a dress with a Converse shoes. We told one of my relatives, who has a clothing boutique, that she should have stock those kind of dress that Kristen Stewart is sporting at the MTV Movie Awards. Teens would surely dig this style. There are wholesale liquidators in our area that she could visit.

We Are the World

"We are the World" - This song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie is one of my favorite songs of all time. It has been recorded by a supergroup of 45 popular musicians led by the King of Pop himself. This single is "one of the fastest-selling singles of the modern pop era". This song can literally bring you to tears. My family have it in our mp3 players.

Gardening

I want to do some serious gardening lately but it had been raining the past few days. Thank you for the rain because it waters my plants. I am not able to do them right now because there's a leak on one of my faucets.

But too much rain can drown them. I hope there would be no more heavy rains this coming week. When summer passes, what I miss the most are the blossoming flowers in my garden.

Cancer

Cancer is such an insidious disease. Aside from the passing of the King of Pop, another entertainment icon also passed away on the same day. Farrah Fawcett had succumbed to cancer at the age of 62.

Some people are successful in battling cancer but a lot of people also failed to do so. There are different forms of cancer such as mesothelioma but nonetheless, all of them are deadly and may affect not only the physical but also the emotional well-being of the victim as well.

Farrah will always be remembered for her sweet smile, her gorgeous hair do and of course, her determination to battle a disease like cancer.

Sports

My family loves sports. Today, we were supposed to watch a basketball game at the Araneta Coliseum but we were busy with other things. Well, there's always next week. Watching a game is one of my family's favorite bonding moments. My daughter always jokingly says that when she gets rich someday, she'd buy us New York Yankees tickets. That will be so much fun. I won't say no to that. We tell her, aside from the tickets, she should include shopping allowance. lol

Michael Jackson's Children

With the demise of a person, the people that are affected the most are the children. For the general public, Michael Jackson's death was unexpected. There's no question about it, I admire Michael Jackson for being a talented and genius performer. Another thing that is admirable about him is that he tried his best to give his children privacy.

Unlike most children of celebrities, his children are not easily recognized. I am aware that he has kids but I do not know how they looked like until I searched for it online. (just now) This has been a question raised by many, "Now, who would take care of MJ's kids?". It has been said that the custody may be given to Michael Jackson's mother, but at her age of 78, would she be able to take care of them well? There may also be a possibility that the biological mom of the two oldest children-Debbie Rowe – will seek out custody.

I am hoping for the best interest of these 3 wonderful children: Prince Michael, Paris Michael & Prince Michael II.

Shopping

Like most women, I love shopping, whether it's offline or online. The good thing about shopping online is that you can do it within the comfort of your own home. You won't have to get tired roaming around the mall to look for the things that you want to buy. Plus it's also easier to compare prices.

However, there are a lot of stores online. So you have to be smart enough to look for one that would give you the best deal. Of course, make sure that they are not scam sites. As a self-confessed online shopper, I am glad that I learned about ShopWiki. You can actually find anything and everything for sale on the web at ShopWiki.com. It will give you a good list of stores, whether or not they had paid for placement.

When I am online, I look for stuffs such as sunglasses, books, collectibles, electronics, clothing, health and beauty products. Well, it's really random! My daughters had always been interested with accessories. For my hubby, his favorite is anything related to automotive. Our interests maybe varied, but one thing is for sure, we love shopping! Thanks to Shopwiki for making it fun and convenient for us.

Bookstore

The bookstore is just a stone throw away from where we live. I got my daughter a nice book for today. It's Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. I instilled in my children the love for reading. When we have extra money, I get them inspirational books and all sorts of books that they love to read. When I am at the book store, I keep checking the price of the books. It's a good thing that they have a machine where you can just check for their prices. POS systems should be installed at places like bookstores and groceries to make it more convenient for buyers like me.

Does your Father Smoke?

My father passed away many years ago. He was a man with a good sense of humor. He always makes everyone around him laugh with his jokes and funny antics. He had one vice that's always the cause why him and my ma fight. He smokes I don't know how stick a day. He does not do it in front of us but I do see his cigarette packs in his pocket or laying in the shelf where he always put it.We all know that smoking is not good for the health. He said he had tried many tempts to get rid of it but he just can't. Oh well, maybe he just don't really want to. My mom would say he should look for an alternative vice.

While browsing online, I came across a sire that mentions about Electronic Cigarette. Well, I got curious about it because I never heard of disposable e cigarettes before. According to what I read on the site, it has 4000 less chemicals than traditional cigarettes. My dad would have preferred this one. Since, It does not have carcinogen, tar or tobacco. Since they are refillable, they are more cost-effective. Just 30 Ml of E Liquid can go a long way!

Happy Father's Day

I am proud to say that I am blessed with a wonderful husband and that my kids are blessed with a wonderful dad. Happy Father's Day to my beloved hubby.

This father's day, we surprised him with PBA tickets. We went to watch Game 3 of San Miguel vs Burger King match. He's happy because the Beermen won. The final score was 100-88. For me, the best player of the game is Beermen import, Gabe Freeman. This is pretty obvious though.

Here are the scores garnered by the players of each team:

San Miguel Beer 100 - Freeman 35, Villanueva 15, Racela 12, Washington 8, Pennisi 7, Custodio 6, Hontiveros 6, Gonzales 4, Ildefonso 4, Calaguio 2, Pena 1, Cortez 0.

Burger King 88 - Santos 22, Quinahan 11, Billones 10, Aban 8, Daniels 8, Yee 7, Belga 7, Arboleda 7, Cruz 4, Sharma 4, David 0

Who Would Manny Pacquiao Fight Next?

Whenever Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao has a fight, like most Filipinos, our entire family would surely find the time to watch it on tv. I hope someday, we can afford to watch it live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I have read somewhere that the next opponent of Pacquiao on the ring will be Miguel Cotto. But another boxer, Sugar Shane Mosley, is also expressing his desire to have a ring fight with Manny Pacquiao. If someone can give us tickets to the next fight, our only concern would be choosing the most affordable from the number of Las Vegas hotels in that area. Wishful thinking. :)

Music!

Who doesn't enjoy listening to music? While cleaning the house and doing other household chores, I love listening to music. It makes the chores seems a lot easier. I ask my children to download music for me online.

They found this website that sells royalty free music. Audiobank.fm sells royalty free music which means you can use the sound track you bought from them as many times you want in any project that you like. How cool is that? Speaking of music, if you are looking for reason drum kits, simply visit garagedrums.audiobank.fm.

Life Insurance

Here in the Philippines, I notice that for some people, they do not think that life insurance makes sense at all. It can be because they have to attend to their immediate needs first before they even have the time to listen to life insurance quotes being offered to them.

Well, I understand that we do not really want to think that something unfortunate may happen to our family members. But unexpected circumstances may happen and it's better to be prepared for them financially speaking.

So why is it important to get a life insurance?

Some of the following may be a sensitive issue. In case you pass away before your partner does, you don't want to leave your wife or children dealing with all the financial debts and issues you left behind. When you get older, and you develop a disease, at least the financial burden won't be on the family anymore. Financial issues would be considered taken cared of.

So when buying a life insurance, what are the things you need to consider?
Term life insurance. Typically, it gives you the most coverage for the least amount of money. Ask for term life insurance quotes from different insurance companies so that you can compare before deciding which one you'd go with.

If you are interested with term insurance, simply visit the site of ReliaQuote, Inc. to obtain free quotes on term life insurance from leading life insurance companies.

Desiderata

Desiderata is one of my favorite poems. This inspirational piece talks about attaining peace and happiness in life. It was written by Max Ehrmann, a poet and a lawyer from Indiana. I'm looking for a framed copy of Desiderata so I can hang it in our dining room. It would be a good way to start a day.
Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

Pet Lovers

My family loves pet! We see them as a part of our family. We bring them with us when we go out for picnics to when we take a walk at the park. The good thing about pets, especially dogs, is that they make you smile after a long day. They are sweet and playful. Being around them relieves me of stress. I actually want to have more pets. One of my children is telling me that she wanted spoodles.

Our dog has been with us for quite a long time. We do our best to take care of him especially when it comes to giving him the right food and proper grooming. I like buying things online not only for my husband and children but for our beloved pet as well. For pet lovers out there, you should visit tailsrwagging.com. Aside from their online pet store, Tails R Wagging offers services such as dog grooming, dog boarding and doggy day care. If your dog is having unwanted infection such as heartworm for dogs, visit the site to educate yourself and to make sure your dog feels alive and kickin' once again. They simply need a proper medication to get rid of that.

Give your pet a VIP treatment with Tails R Wagging! :)

Laptop Deals

In one of my previous post, I mentioned about wanting to have my own laptop. But it's not something we can afford at the moment because we still have more important things to take care of. But even if we cannot afford it right now, there's no harm in looking for laptop deals online, right? Like what I have mentioned, I am not that techie. but my children gave me guidelines on what to consider when looking for a latop. Aside from the price, I need to be particular with the product specifications such as the processor and the memory. I will have my own laptop soon, when the time is right. :)

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

My first name is not common. It's not so common that people usually misspell it. :) But I love my name. I find it unique, making it easier to remember. I took this test at Blogthings and here's the result for "What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?"

You Are Bold and Fearless

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.

You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.

A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.

You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.

Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Not-a-Techie Mom

I may always be seen in front of the computer blogging and doing online internet shopping, but when something wrong happens to my computer, I have to call my children to rescue this not-so-techie mama. It's a good thing that my kids know how to troubleshoot. I easily freak out whenever I lose my connection but my kids would always tell me that I need to calm down. Oh well, I think our Linksys router needs a replacement. I am looking for a wireless router, just in case someone gives me a laptop soon. :)

Patio Sets

I came across this picture of a 7-piece patio set with a serene view on the background at Patiosetsmart. It's just beautiful! I bet everyone would agree with me. But my house is not overlooking any body of water. I only have a simple green backyard where I can place such patio set. If you want to see different styles of patio sets, simply visit patiosetsmart.com. Get 'em at an affordable price!

Wonderful Memories

Before going to bed last night, I was looking into old pictures saved in my hard drive. The pictures are putting a smile on my face. Some of them were taken when my kids were still toddlers. However, lots and lots of family pictures are eating up the space in my computer. I decided that I should get a flash memory to free some space. To be more organized, I can also group the pictures and save them in a cd.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Last night, my family went to see "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Aside from the fact that it's very entertaining , the remarkable lesson the movie wants to convey about happiness served as a reminder to me and my family. former museum guard, Larry Daley (portrayed by Ben Stiller) had ventured to become a successful businessman but with all the money he got, he does not seem to be excited at his job. He may claim that he is excited about it, but people around him can see that he is not happy at all. So what's true happiness? It's doing what you love to do. In the movie, Amelia Earheart even said that the reason she cross the Atlantic is because she did it for fun.

Sometimes, a lot of us can be too focused on what we want to achieve career-wise, but we lose track of the more important things in life such as our relationship with other people and doing the things we love to do.

Inexpensive Gift Ideas for Dad

Although my husband appreciates everything that we give him, he prefers inexpensive gifts from us. He would always say, "It's the thought that counts" and that we do not need to spend our money on him. So as early as now, my children and I are brainstorming for affordable yet lovely gifts.

If I can afford it, I would surprise him with a Westgate vacation. He deserves a break from his work. Going back to the inexpensive surprises, my children enjoys making a card for their dad where they paste old pics that captured treasured moments with him. One of my daughters is thinking of giving him a neck tie. I warned them to choose a basic design. He does not really like those cartoon designs. Since they know that their dad loves books, one of them is thinking of giving him a book. We love and respect him a lot. I think whatever we give him, he'd surely appreciate it.

Orlando Vacations

How I wish I can escape from the bad weather here in the Philippines. With the non-stop rain and the swine flu outbreak, it's not a good idea to spend time outside the house at the moment. It's going to be summer time in the US soon.

If there's one thing I would like to happen, it is to be able to bring my children to Disneyworld located in Orlando, Florida. We have relatives that lives an hour away from that wonderful amusement park. I have been scouting for Orlando vacations for the my whole family. That would be so much fun.

It hasn't stopped raining yet. I might as well take a rest. :)

Bad Weather and Flu

Almost everyone in our household is getting a flu. I think it has something to do with the bad weather lately. It has been raining since last week.I get scared when someone in my family develops a flu especially with the H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak.

Last Monday, Philippine health authorities claim that the cases of H1N1 rose to 21. To prevent this from happening to my family, I have been telling them to avoid crowded places like malls for the mean time. I also remind them to wash their hands often and bring a hand sanitizer with them.

Colon Cancer

I felt saddened when I heard the news that the former president of our country developed a colon cancer. Colon cancer also known as colorectal cancer is the it is the third most common form of cancer. From what I read about this disease, smokers are most like to get colon cancer compared to nonsmokers. Diet is also another factor. According to studies, a diet high in red meat and low in fruits and vegetables would increase your chances of getting colon cancer. I also heard that colon cleanser can decrease the risk of colon cancer. But I am not sure if this has been proven true.

Lighting Necessities

My daughter had been complaining about the lighting in her room. She said that it became dim lately. Since she needs proper lighting so that she can study well, that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I don't want her to strain her eyes studying that's why we had to do something about the lighting fixture ASAP. It's a good thing that tomorrow, my husband has the time to have it fixed.
