My Greatest Achievement in Life

Life for me is not that simple.I grew up in a small community with my nine siblings. My father a mere laborer and my mother a plain housewife who occasionally serves as a cook to a relative of ours. We grew on a day to day subsistence.I remember my older brothers leaving us seeking for their own luck in the main city with a promise that they will send some financial support for us the younger ones for our needs and schooling. A promise that would only last for some years for sooner they choose to have their own families. Leaving us no choice to stand on our own shoes for survival. With all my siblings left I was lucky enough that with my diligence and perseverance with my studies I entered college as a government scholar. I was able to graduate with a degree course. Got lot of plans then, but sometimes there are incidents in our life that come on our way that interferes with our plan. My getting married happened to early as I had planned it to be. So I was left with no options to welcome my new status in life. I had my first baby at age 21 and soon one became four at 28. At this point, life for me is so complex for I have to struggle between my work as a government employee with rearing my kids. All at that time are in their formative years. With my family formation innate in me, that family first before anything else I have to make one of the hardest decision in my life. For I choose to suffer my professional growth in exchange of my rearing my kids, a full time housewife who caters to the needs of her children. My first years was not that easy for there are still a lot of hang ups in my mind and taking aside my new setting. Soon little by little I had adapted to my new world and found my way happy and contended with my daily routine work at home. With the kids around me full of joy seeing me all the time at home so busy preparing for their needs. Hanging around with them with their naughtiness and laughters. At the end of the day even if I feel exhausted I am so secured and happy seeing them grow and contended in what they are and what they have. Modesty aside each of them have something to boost about themselves as an exceptional ability. I see them as fruits of my labor and conduit of my ambitions in life .They are my precious gems which needs to be continually cared and loved for. In them I see a reflection of myself. No amount of material thing in this world could equal my love for them. For in them I find fulfillment of what I am today. For this, I am proud to say, my being a MOTHER to my four kids is MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT IN MY LIFE!

A Touch of Me

I was born under the zodiac sign Leo, under the Year of the Rabbit. With these two animals as my birth sign I characterized myself as friendly, generous,a born leader, courageous, diligent and with a superb patience. A strong character innate in me is that, when I do a task, I put my best foot forward in order for me to get a positive result. I feel upset and greatly affected when things go wrong. Sometimes I am misunderstood because of my calmness. When problems popped up, my mind is set up to find a solution first and not to drag things out. With my strong will and perseverance coupled with the blessings of the LORD, things are stress out.I am a generous person who gives all even to the extent nothing is left for me. But no, when I give out, more than returns. I feel a sense of happiness when I make people happy in my own little world. I am a workaholic in nature who spends every hour of the day progressively. Time for me is gold. I make sure that at the end of the day I have accomplished something worthwhile remembering. This is me!

My Daughter's Poem

MY BEST FRIEND

She is my one and only best friend.
She is always there forever.
Ready to hand me a hand.
Whenever I need her.

She's the best woman
She's my generous mother.
I had been her greatest fan.
I never hated her, Never!

Though she always get angry.
I know it's for my own good.
That's why I will always obey her,
Admire and love my dearest mother.

I consider her the best gift,
I have ever received.
To light and guide my way,
So that I'll never walk astray.

The above poem is a literary piece written by my daughter when she was in Grade-VI. It was published in their school paper.

My Baby Had Grown Up

I conceived her at an early age and unplanned. However I took the responsibility openly. It was not easy then for at that time I was on my last year of my tertiary education. I focused myself to finishing my studies while she is inside me. So to say I graduated marching onstage with her. After barely two months I delivered a bouncing pretty baby. She grew up to be bubbly and forward. She brought joy and laughter to the family with her unending questions on things and what she sees around her. She soon grew to have inclination on drawing and writing prowess. At school she is liked by everybody. Teachers are very fond of her not only because of her personality but also of her academic performance. She soon finds her way representing her school in areas she is intellectually good at. She too is a performer for she is pick up to dance, declaim and host programs where she delivers gracefully and with eloquence. I consider her high school life as one of the challenging stage of her schooling for she had her flaws but she had overcome it for she entered college as a government scholar in one of the best universities in the country where she earned her degree maintaining her scholarship. As her mother I thank the LORD for entrusting her to me. I consider her as one of the best things that happened in my life. For today seeing her accomplishments in her area of expertise and how she deals with things in her own way I feel and with a sense of fulfillment that I had done my part in rearing and nurturing what is innate abilities in her.For all of these she humbly commend me for the support I gave her in her growing age. I love the way she understands me and discuss things with me now. Especially concerning our family, she is a big boost to me for hand in hand we discuss details on how we go about solving our present family crisis. Setting aside all her needs she is giving her time to us. On matters of our finances, she willingly supports us. Though at times we have different views on things to a point we argue that does not anyhow lessen our understanding and respect with one another. For this I say, MY BABY HAS NOW GROWN UP!!
